I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Systems, and Head of the Haifa Innovation Labs, the University's innovation and entrepreneurship program. The Program's Steering Committee includes key faculty members from the University's Departments of Data Sciences, Health Sciences and Management. My private sector experience includes serving as Operations Manager for the software company Jacada.

Haifa Innovation Labs (HIL) was launched in 2019 to instill and promote an entrepreneurial environment on campus and offer students a unique learning experience that combines academic excellence with practical hands-on experience. Our program “Designing a Better World” focuses on social innovation and impact entrepreneurship.

To fulfill our vision, we offer:

  • HIL Courses and workshops- Open to all students at the university (undergraduate and graduate) on topics such as: business planning for start-ups, the innovation process for new products and services, and developing interpersonal skills for entrepreneurs.
  • HIL Practice - Students work together in multidisciplinary teams to develop an innovative product or service that addresses real-world social and environmental challenges. Mentoring by experienced professionals is part of the unique learning experience provided to students. The program is based on the "Design Thinking" methodology for innovation.
  • HIL Fund- providing early-stage ventures led by students and recent university graduates with access to funding and mentorship.
  • HIL Sparks- Entrepreneurship-promoting events held with our partners in and off campus.
