Prof. Ron Robin is the 11th President of the University of Haifa. Prof. Robin is an expert in American History, with a PhD in American History from the University of California at Berkeley (1986). Prof. Robin was a faculty member at the University of Haifa for over twenty years, during which he held several official positions, including Dean of Students. In 2006, Prof. Robin joined NYU where, amongst other things, he served as the Vice Provost and was responsible for establishing NYU international campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. Prof. Robin is the author of six books and dozens of articles. He has published research on the political, cultural and media aspects of the Cold War between the US and the former USSR, and about Politics and Culture in the American academia.

Brad Bloom has spent his entire life in the Boston, MA area. He earned his B.A. in economics from Harvard College and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School as a Baker Scholar. He is the co-founder and former managing Director of Berkshire Partners LLC, a private equity firm. He is a highly respected leader in the Boston Jewish community, having served as Chairman of Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), and co-founder of the Boston-Haifa Connection. In addition, Mr. Bloom is active in strategic and financial oversight committees at Harvard University, and is the former President of the Board of Trustees of Milton Academy.

Isaac Dabah is the Chief Executive Officer of Delta Galil Industries Ltd., a global leader in intimate apparel. A staunch friend of the State of Israel and an active philanthropist, he began investing in Israel, first in Polgat Jeans of Kiryat Gat which he saved from closure, and then by acquiring a majority stake in Delta Galil. During his tenure as CEO, Delta Galil achieved top-line growth, reaching approximately $1.8 billion in sales and becoming one of the world’s premier manufacturers and designers of textiles for leading brands and global retailers.

Delta Galil established the 'Delta Program for Academic Leadership of the Ethiopian Students Community' at the University of Haifa in 2013. This year marks the eighth anniversary of the Program, which provides a full range of academic support and personal mentoring to students of Ethiopian descent.  In addition to empowering and encouraging leadership among participating students, the Delta Program aims to prepare and assist them as they begin their post-university lives and enter the job market.   

Mr. Dabah was recognized as Businessman of the Year  by Israel’s leading business newspaper Calcalist in 2014.  He serves as a member of the Board of Governors of Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art and the Peres Center for Peace & Innovation.

Dr. Yael Granot-Bein is the Director of the Unit for Social Engagement at the Office of the Dean of Students. Dr. Granot-Bein, a historian of Jewish migration, directed the Weiss-Livnat International MA Program in Holocaust Studies for ten years. Within this framework, she established and managed the Weiss-Livnat Innovation Hub for Holocaust Commemoration and Education, a supportive and empowering environment where select program graduates can develop and implement innovative lessons for teaching about the Holocaust. Yael is responsible for organizing and coordinating the students' social activism and community involvement within the Unit for Social Engagement. Her goal is to empower young students to believe in their ability to impact the society in which they live by providing them with the tools and opportunities to bring about impactful social change.

Ms. Dana Weiss is one of Israel’s most trusted and decorated journalists. As a reporter for Israel’s Channel 12, the largest television station in Israel, millions of Israelis have welcomed Ms. Weiss into their homes. A prolific political commentator, she worked first as a legal affairs correspondent and then as host of Israel’s ‘Meet the Press’ for almost a decade. Today, Ms. Weiss anchors the prime-time Saturday evening news, the most watched news program in Israel, and serves as the Israeli News Company's Chief Political Analyst. In addition to her professional work, Ms. Weiss is also a leading figure in Israel, working towards women’s empowerment and gender equality. In 2015, she was named to the Israeli President’s Council for a New Israeli Agenda. She is a graduate of Hebrew University's Faculty of Law and Communications, and holds an LLM from Tel Aviv University. Ms. Weiss lives with her husband and three sons in Tel Aviv.

Prof. Richard Horton is Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet. He qualified in physiology and medicine with honors from the University of Birmingham in 1986. He joined The Lancet in 1990, moving to New York as North American Editor in 1993. In 2016, he chaired the Expert Group for the High Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth, convened by Presidents Hollande of France and Zuma of South Africa. From 2011 to 2015, he was co-chair of the UN’s independent Expert Review Group on Information and Accountability for Women’s and Children’s Health. In 2011, he was elected a Foreign Associate of the US Institute of Medicine, and in 2015, he received the Friendship Award from the Government of China. In 2019, he was awarded the WHO Director-General’s Health Leaders Award for outstanding leadership in global health and the Roux Prize in recognition of innovation in the application of global health evidence. He wrote Health Wars (2003) about the need to place human dignity at the heart of health care. He has a strong interest in global health and medicine’s contribution to our wider culture. He now works to develop the idea of planetary health – the health of human civilizations and the ecosystems on which they depend.

Ms. Batia Ofer is an avid art collector and philanthropist. She is a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts and sits on both the Sotheby’s and the V&A International Council. She previously chaired the Education Committee at the Serpentine Gallery and consulted for Frieze Art Fair.

She has been deeply involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for over a decade. She founded and chairs the “Art of Wishes” events, is a Patron for the foundation in the U.K. and served as Honorary President for the foundation in Israel for many years.

Batia sits on the Dean’s Executive Board at Harvard Kennedy School, and in 2013 she and her husband Idan, established the HKS Sammy Ofer Graduate Fellowship Fund for Emerging Leaders from Israel and Palestine, to help promising students from the region attend the school.  She also sits on the board of the Peres Center for Peace & Innovation.

Rector Gur Alroey is a historian of Jewish history in modern times and Head of the Ruderman Program for American Jewish Studies. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities between 2016-2020.

Prof. Alroey received his PhD in 2001 from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His main fields of research are Jewish migration in the late 19^th century and early 20^th century, Early Zionism and the Territorial Ideology.

Prof. Alroey is the author of six books and dozens of articles. His most recent book, "An Unpromising Land: The Jewish Migration to Palestine in the Early Twentieth Century," was published by Stanford University Press.

Jeremy M. Isaacs is the founding partner of the JRJ Group, a private equity investment firm established in 2008.  Prior to the establishment of the JRJ Group he acted as CEO of Lehman Brothers in Europe, Middle East and Asia and before that, he led the European derivatives trading business of Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Isaacs is a committed philanthropist who gives thought to long term giving around the world. He supports numerous charitable activities and holds prominent positions on the boards of numerous charitable trusts in the UK. Mr. Isaacs is an Honorary Fellow of the London Business School and has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Haifa in 2019 .In 2015, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to the NHS in his capacity as Chair of the Remuneration Committee at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.  Mr. Jeremy Isaacs is a cherished and valued friend of the University of Haifa.

Dr. Tal Luzzatto Knaan is a faculty member in the Department of Marine Biology at the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences. Dr. Knaan is a Biotechnologist with a PhD in biochemistry from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her research focuses on small molecules (metabolites) in marine biological systems, including their role in ecological contexts and their potential for medicinal and biotechnological applications. She is also heading the newly launched Interdisciplinary Unit for Metabolomics and Natural Products at the University of Haifa.

Dr. Talya Greene is Head of Department and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community Mental Health, University of Haifa. She is also Honorary Associate Professor at the Division of Psychiatry, University College London, UK. She was born and raised in the UK and moved to Israel in 2006. She received her PhD from King’s College London, UK, in 2009, and has been a faculty member of the University of Haifa since 2013.

Dr Greene publishes widely on the mental health consequences of mass traumatic events using cutting-edge data collection and analytic methods. She is a co-founder of the COVID Trauma Response Working Group based in the UK and an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Psychotraumatology.

Dr. Michael Halberthal completed his medical studies at the Technion Faculty of Medicine in 1986. He is a specialist in Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care and Hospital Management. Currently, Dr. Halberthal serves as General Director of Rambam Healthcare Campus and as Chairman of the Teaching Center for Trauma and Mass Casualty Events. He has demonstrated clinical, organizational and research skills, and is actively involved in research in the fields of management trauma and medical system preparedness, as well as quality and patient safety.

Prof. Joseph Klafter is the former President of Tel Aviv University (2009-2019). He served as the Chair of the Israel Science Foundation (ISF), the main institution supporting scientific research in Israel, from 2002 to 2009. 

Widely recognized in his field, chemical physics, Professor Klafter has published close to 400 scientific articles, edited 18 books and is the co-author of a text book. 

He is an honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a fellow of the American Physical Society. Among his recognitions are the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Prize, the Weizmann Prize for Sciences, the Rothschild Prize in Chemistry, the Israel Chemical Society Prize and the Israel Prize in Physics and Chemistry. He holds an honorary doctorate from Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland, an Honorary Professorship of Tsinghua University, China, and received the “Commander of the Order of the Star of Italy” distinction from the President of Italy.

Ms. Shira Navon holds a BA in Economics from Tel Aviv University and an MBA (cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.  In the past six years Shira held the position of Deputy Director General of the Council for Higher Education, having previously filled the role of Deputy Head of the Budgeting Division of the Council for Higher Education.  Today, Shira is responsible for planning the University of Haifa strategy to fulfill the University’s  Vision, including: identifying areas for academic and organizational development, multiyear strategic planning, multiyear planning of income and budget maximization to support the fulfillment of the University’s Vision, creating work plans with University entities to execute University goals, and more.  Shira is a graduate of the prestigious Ministry of Education Advot Leadership Program (2017).
